Kenneth Current
Kenneth Current, 58, a Sturgeon businessman, died Tuesday, June 11,1991, at Columbia Regional Hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. tomorrow at Meador & Son Funeral Chapel in Sturgeon with Rev. Bob Flanagan of the Sturgeon Christian Church officiating.
He will be in state at Meador & Son Funeral Home in Sturgeon from 2 p.m. today until time of services. The family will receive friends from 2-4p.m. and from 6-8 p.m. today.
Mr. Current was born on April 8, 1933, in Clark to the late Arley B.Current and Lorene Colley Current, who survives in Middle Grove. On Sept. 6,1952, he married June Owings, who survives in Sturgeon.
Other survivors are a daughter, Mrs. Ted (Linda) Crigler of Centralia; a grandson, Justin Ray Crigler; and a brother, Ronald Gene Current of Clark.
In 1951, Mr. Current graduated from Sturgeon High School and served in the Korean War from 1953-1955. He was a member elder of the Sturgeon Christian Church. He owned and operated the Sturgeon Oil Company for many years.
He was also a past fire chief of Sturgeon and had served on the Sturgeon R-V Board of Education. He participated in the Sturgeon Fair when his health allowed it and was a former member of the Sturgeon Chamber of Commerce.
Memorials may be sent to Mount Horeb Cemetery or to the American Lung Association.
